Happy for others, bummed for us

Many referrals today, 2 sets of siblings, 2 boys and an older boy. And one baby girl. We wish we new who the happy families were but I'm sad to say I don't. I'm hoping this is the start of many more to come, it has been really slow lately. We were number seven on the list and there have been 7 babies given out since I found out where are are on the LIST!!! So I'm a little confused on where we are, but I am trusting we are where we are supposed to be. Next week will be 10 months, and I really don't want to go there . Miracles do happen so maybe more phone calls will happen this week. Crossing fingers and toes. Keith and I are actually doing pretty good, I think when you wait this long you kind of become numb to the whole process. Don't get me wrong we really want our little lady to be home with us soon, but some days I feel as though it will never happen. The cycle of the adoption world!!! Thanks again for all the support. Hope to share some good news soon.

I'm bummed for you too :-(
For sure you have to be in the next batch!
I can't even imagine how hard this must be for you, being sooooo close.
Fingers and toes crossed, and hair braided too!

I tottaly agree! The past few weeks have been a little easier. I even stopped carrying my phone with me everywhere. I have to say - don't give up hope. The week isn't over yet. I really don't believe that any of us will hit that 10 month mark. Tomorrow is a new day (:

I am sorry it wasn't you. You guys must be so close!

Did you ask how long the people that received the baby girl had waited?

I just knew that referral of the baby girl had to be you. Hopefully this week! You are so great at being positive. I'm trying to take notes from you since this power outage has me in a funk!

I really don't even know what to say about the list anymore!!! This is crazy..... I'm sure it is just too hard for words! I am hoping/praying/lighting candles/sparkling/doing whatever it takes for more referrals...soon...like THIS week!!!

10 months????? Wow, you have so much patience. Let me try to make it better for you...

The reason why you are having to wait so long is becasue God is picking out a very special child that was meant to be with just you. My husband used to say to me, the pretty ones take longer...I would give him a look and he would say, what, the pretty ones need homes too. I know it sounds wrong but it made me laugh later because she happens to be gorgeous!

When we got our referral, our daughter was made available just days before and she is the one we were meant to have. God knows all.

You are about to get the BEST refferal and the wait will have been made worth it.

Having said that, I would like some of the meds that you are on, I could use some patience! lol

Erin, I admire you right now. I follow your blog and now that there have been times when you are frustrated, but overall you are handling this with much grace! We too are anxious, but numb. I want to shop and set up her room, but why? I know she will come, ONE DAY, but right now it doesn't feel like it, so what's the point of preparing for it, or obsessing over it. Okay, who am I kidding....it is obsessing. LOL!

Hi Erin! I'm also a waiting CHI family and was equally sure you would have received one of the referrals this week. I just had to drop you a note of encouragement. When I start to question if it will ever happen, I rely on others to carry the belief for me. You have a community of people, those close to you and other connected by the adoption world, who all strongly believe that the magical referral call will come soon. Hang in there.

Hum, CHI are good people they are working with a system that requires patience and more patience along with faith among their many clients. This program is not for the weak of heart or those with out fellow concern.
Next year when you are walking in the park with your little lady, you will say, golly it was a long ride but it was well worth it and the past is a little foggy because we are here now, the "3" of us.

I don't know if this will help, but I just read on another blog that there were two sibling groups as part of this round of referrals. That may account for some of the confusion.

Hang in there!
